European poker legend Marcel Luske comes from a generation of old-school pros, the type that had to pay their dues in local card rooms and dangerous private games - a world away from how many of today's biggest young stars find their feet in the modern poker scene. It's this kind of back-story that makes Marcel one of the most interesting and watchable characters in poker. And also the reason why he's one of the most successful competitors to ever sit down and play.

Marcel has an incredible live tournament record that stretches back over a decade, filled with major victories and final table appearances. He's been dominating the European circuit for years, picking up thousands of dollars in cash along the way. But what's most impressive about Marcel's record is that he's managed to find success all over the world, especially in the biggest events in Las Vegas. He's cashed at the World Series of Poker* many times, including a good run in 2004 that saw him finish second in the $5,000 Seven Card Stud event for $120,800, and 10th in the Main Event. He's also a regular face at the PokerStars.com European Poker Tour, and made the final table of the Monte Carlo Grand Final in 2006. He's also a true all-round player, having found success in a wide range of games outside of Hold’em, including Pot Limit Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo, Stud and HORSE.

His years of experience have meant that Marcel is a great teacher of the game, and he's been able to pass on his wisdom to a number of players who have gone on to find major success. Those he has mentored include 2004 WSOP* Main Event runner-up David Williams and, most notably, fellow Team PokerStars Pro and EPT Champion Noah Boeken.
