    Alucard, with an opponent checking/calling 2 streets and then suddenly being faced with a donk bet on the river (on a river card where a lot of draws just got there) typically shows strength. Another scenario is that she made a low straight and is afraid of a higher straight, but either way you are probably beat, and are only calling due to the size of the pot. 10 Months ago

    I disagree. In this particular example, a significant raise, around 60-70% of the pot, would scare out better hands such as JJJ or a straight, because doing so would represent a reasonably strong hand such as the AQ flush you could be representing. The scare cards on the board can be used for great play to get a winning hand to fold, allowing you to win a pot that you would otherwise have lost by simply calling with a beat hand. 1 Year ago
